A Story to be Told!

We have an amazing addition to our delegation this year in Sarah Lewis.  Sarah is an educator, artist and photographer who teaches Media Art and Photography at BCI in Brockville.

Sarah will be working directly with students at the Chausy Orphanage in concert with Stephen MacKinnon’s student projects.  Her project will link students in her class in Brockville with the three graduating students at the Chausy Orphanage, Yanna, Karina and Katya, seen here.

Each of the girls will help to produce a video that tells a story which will include “Finding Your Passion”, “Overcoming Obstacles” and “Overcoming your Fears”.  Each video will include parallels with three students in Canada.  A wonderful opportunity to find the similarities in cultures a world apart.

In order to do this Sarah requires some resources and has started a “KickStarter” campaign to raise the funds.  Her project is called “Tell My Story” and you can read more about it by clicking here.

We are really excited with this project as Sarah’s focus on the children coincides with our long term vision to help these children discover and develop their own strengths and find a passion in life.  Click on the link above if you would like to help Sarah meet this goal.
