Susan and her family became involved with a former Chernobyl organization in 1992 and brought over the first of 5 children from the same family in 1993. They hosted until all children had been to Canada for respite ending 1998. She continues to support this family through CAC initiatives of food boxes and education funding for the children.  In 1996, Susan and her then 14 year old son were fortunate enough to visit Belarus. This reinforced their commitment to CAC.

Susan has retired after 12 years as recording secretary for CAC but is continuing her support as an officer.
