Yesterday we held our 4th annual birthday party for the children of the Chausy Orphanage. Again this year it was hosted by Corbin Evans, a grade 8 student at TISS Intermediate school. Corbin raises the funds for this party through various means throughout the year including bottle drives and Crispy Creme donut sales. Here is Corbin and his Mom, Jennifer, dancing at the party. Needless to say the party was a huge success.
Before we see a few more pictures from the party, I’ll back up to a couple of other activities from the day.
Sorry to miss a couple of days but we have been wrapping things up and then starting our journey home.
Poultry Barn for the Chausy Orphanage
With the exception of water and electricity, the Poultry Barn is finally complete! It has been a long stretch getting it together but everyone has worked really hard and made it happen. Here is a shot from the front …
We are almost at the end of our time here in Belarus. Some of the delegates have already headed home and more are leaving everyday over the next few days. We have a real push on to tidy up loose ends and complete any outstanding items. Some of the items have only just been released from bond over the past two days so we need to get everything to where it is going.
A small group of us continue to work on the Poultry Barn and hope to finish up tomorrow. Today we got the metal sheeting on one of the three rooms. Although it was pre-cut, it was very difficult to install as it we had to put in all of the trim and then fit the pieces around all of the vents etc. The room below is the completed room for the meat birds.
